More than a month ago, the popular Symbianize forum announced that it was retiring. Little did we know that it would later be reborn and rebranded as Mobilarian.
I visited the brand new forum and it seems that the design is still the same as that of Symbianize’s. The forum is still focused on technology particularly about mobile phones, computers, Internet, and gaming. However, there are a few notable changes.
The Adult Zone section of the old Symbianize forum is no longer existing in the new Mobilarian. In fact, I was greeted by a flashing black banner requesting me to leave the said “Adult Members” group. I don’t remember joining such a group but I followed the steps to leave the group anyway.
The Marketplace section is also no longer available. So if you want to sell or buy gadgets, then you can look elsewhere. The Mobilarian staff explained that they don’t have enough resources to moderate the adult and marketplace sections, thus the decision to discontinue them.
If you are a Symbianize member, you can still use your existing username and password in Symbianize to log in to Mobilarian. You don’t need to sign up for a new account.
It can be recalled that a few weeks ago, a Symbianize administrator posted on its now deleted Facebook page that “we probably have until the end of the month (August) to enjoy Symbianize.” The posted added the hashtag #ChangeIsComing? which left many members wondering about its meaning.
A few thought that Symbianize will be gone forever but now that the forum is relaunched as Mobilarian, it’s definitely great news for a lot of Symbianize fans. Members can continue posting just like the old times, with the only main difference being the name of the forum.
What do you think about this rebranding? Will you continue patronizing the new Mobilarian forum?
